JiM's Dreams

Yesterday was survived.
Today, I was up very early indeed to drive down to get 12 vials (!) of blood drawn, pre-breakfast, of course. However, we drove through some especially gorgeous canyons and the ocean was hammered pewter and the phlebotomist was a darling (and all his tattoos were spelled correctly). We had a nice breakfast afterward at a NY-style diner from the 40's, then hied ourselves across LA the LONG way to try another Korean spa. Lovely, although not as nice as the usual. A nice eucalyptus steam, a mugwort soak, a dip in the cool pool and a nice oil massage with cucumber facial made for a lovely mid-morning. We topped that off with a big bowl of noodle soup, then home for a nap.

The shiva call was this evening and the house was packed with people. Seriously, I have seen fewer folks at Friday night services. It was funny watching folks trying to daven up and down the stairs. We made our rounds, then dove out the door. Too many people in too small a space after a long weekend. But I got to spend time talking with the ancient uncle, brother of the lady who died, and he was a sweetie.

Now, I think it is time to head to sleep before my workweek begins afresh tomorrow.
