We had two families of friends over for brunch this morning. The house was reasonably clean and we put out a very nice menu (if I do say so myself) which people ate scads of, there was happy talk, kittens were played with and a good time had by all.
The menu:
spinach frittata
three pepper/roasted corn soup
roasted winter veggies
BBQ meatballs
cheese and crackers
sugared pecans
coffee, tea
champagne, mimosa, kir royale
Music was light piano, some jazz, some Marsalis/Winston stuff
One peacock feather kept two teen girls and a 6 mo. kitten occupied for 3 hours - that was a good investment!
After everyone left, we hied ourselves out to get meds and check the local feedstore for a book on raising chickens in the backyard. Home for a catnap and then made chowder for dinner. The Husband tackled the scary stack of dirty dishes and now I am trying to give myself a pep-talk into beginning the umpteenth rewrite on the opening of the murder mystery. Writing group tomorrow night and I should be ready.
Wish me luck!
