It was a lovely day. We decided to not go to the barbecue to which we were invited. Instead, we took an early evening walk down Main street and wandered over to the beach and back to the car - a really nice long and reassuring walk. Nice to ramble and chat and people-watch.

Came home and watched the Boston Pops 4th of July on TV. I have to admit, despite my fondness for Arthur Fiedler, Harry Elis Dickson and John Williams, Keith Lockhart seems to be the most eclectic and approachable conductor they've had in decades. The music lineup was diverse and appealed to a fairly wide spread. Only a little homesick and remembering watching the fireworks and listening to the music from a boat out on the Charles. The 1812 Overture just never sounds as good without Battery C of the 101st Field Artillery playing percussion.

Happy 4th to you all.
