Darlings, it's winter. It apparently doesn't matter to my stewing brain whether there is sunlight and surfing or snow and sleet, I still get the Winter Blahs. I am starting to understand why ancient Druids locked people in wicker cages and burned them to make the sun come back - sheer grumpiness.
That being said, I got a terrific new book. "Depraved and Insulting English", a dictionary of peculiar stuff that I adore. So, from now on until I have something useful to say, I'll throw in a vocabulary-builder that you could use in polite and fairly well-educated company without a prayer of being understood.
Gound - n, the crusty eye-goop that you wake up to in the morning has a name!
Sounds more erudite than "eye boogers", doesn't it?
