Greetings from San Diego. I mistook the time of my train this morning and so woke up 28 minutes before it left the station, but I made it! On time, well-dressed and with a dab of makeup. (Thanks to the Husband!) Met congregants at the station, had a nice chat. The train ride was marvelously comfortable (took Business Class - totally worth the extra buckage)and wound up in San Diego 3 blocks from my hotel. OK, three LONG blocks to drag a suitcase, but as I debated a taxi or a brisk drag, 2 more congregants appeared out of the mist and scooped me up and insisted on carrying my bags for me!
Nice hotel room (king sized bed...mmmm), took a shower, went out to go register for my conference and ran into an old friend from Florida! It has been my day for running into folks serendipitously. Went out for a good dinner then back to yawn our way through the opening keynote and to chat energetically with our Affinity Groups. On the plus side, the keynote included about 15 minutes of Gilda Radner footage.
Have I mentioned how much I enjoy my job?
