jimpage363 at 11:15am on 07/03/2006Just had someone in my office this morning telling me that her husband now has a dreadful STD that can kill him. This comes on top of his recent head surgery, her required hysterectomy, one kid's congenital-defect-correction surgery, a brush with narcotics addiction, adultery, internet-based adultery, deathly ill parents and a mudslide that nearly killed them and destroyed their house.
They live lives of wild originality and emotional texture, of great scope and encompassing most of the story lines embraced by the "Lifetime - Television for Women" network. I should have known when he wandered in clutching a bound copy of the teachings of David Koresh that these were going to be high maintenance folks.
A lot of it they do to themselves, of course. I should be grateful - they make me feel stable and calm, like I have my shit together, or at least all in the same zip code.
