The concert was delightful. "Men of Worth" are a combo of an Irishman and a Scotsman playing delightful celtic music of the "tinkling" and "wish we were there" variety on bodhran, mandolin, guitar and concertina. I can highly recommend their music and their presentation was lively, funny and folksy.
So now I am dreaming Scottish dreams -- tours of Scotland are freely available. There is even a Gathering at the family's clan seat in 2 years. Best of all, in the newsletter for this quarter, there was a bar mitzvah listed, so I am not the only person of Jewish Scottish heritage wondering how the hell to honor both histories without going nuts.
No, it's not just because I want an excuse to wear a cool little black-handled knife in my sock. Honest.
By the by, SGA friends, McKay's name is traditionally pronounced "Mac-Eye", or so sayeth the nice folks at the Clan McKay booth.
